The 'MACHINE SHOP' utilises conventional and/or CNC Drilling Milling and Turning to further process foundry products and bought in castings, raw material and bar stock products.

Surecast has a modern and extensive machine shop utilising predominantly CNC machine tools complimented by conventional machines.

We have great experience of machining components from all sources. In house produced castings in; aluminum, cast iron and yellow metals. Free issue castings, customer supplied or sourced by Surecast. We also produce an array of components from solid bar and stock, in virtually any material.

The machining ranges from a simple drilled hole, to complex hydraulic pump housings and carburetor bodies; with intricate ports and interconnecting galleries CNC machined.

We aim to be as flexible as possible to meet our customers requirements; therefore, processes are tailored to suit batch sizes from one off to many thousands.  We have modular fixturing for small quantities and purpose made (in house) dedicated jigs and fixtures for larger batches.

Machining is verified and accuracy maintained by inspection on our Mitutoyo Co-ordinate measuring machine (C.M.M.) as well as a full range of inspection equipment and gauging.

We are happy to provide technical advice on machining processes, thus giving the customer the benefit of our experience and knowledge, with regard to material selection and component design, in order to reduce costs and minimise lead-times.
